Softball Closes Season with 4-0 Loss at Ventura
VENTURA, Calif. — The Allan Hancock College softball team wrapped up its 2026 season on Thursday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Ventura College on the road. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs battled throughout the afternoon but were held without a hit, as VC's pitching staff tossed a complete-game no-hitter. Hancock worked four walks and put runners on base, but couldn't find the timely hit to break through.
Sophomore Tori Salazar led the way offensively by reaching base twice via walks and adding a stolen base, while Cali Gamble also swiped a bag as AHC attempted to generate offense on the basepaths.
In the circle, Ciena Acosta delivered a solid complete-game effort, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits while keeping Hancock within striking distance through the early innings. Ventura pushed across single runs in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth to gradually extend the lead.
Defensively, the Bulldogs recorded 18 putouts and turned in several clean innings behind Acosta, with Salazar, Gamble, and Dezirae Rodriguez contributing steady play in the field.
With the result, Hancock closes the spring campaign with an overall record of 9-26 and a 3-9 mark against WSC foes.
