SANTA MARIA, Calif. – The Allan Hancock College softball team opened the 2026 home schedule by splitting a non-conference doubleheader against LA Valley College on Thursday afternoon, taking game one before dropping the nightcap.
The Bulldogs started the day strong with a win in the opener before LA Valley responded to earn the split in game two.
GAME ONE: AHC — LA VALLEY | BOX SCORE
Allan Hancock set the tone early in the home opener, jumping out in front and maintaining control throughout game one to secure the victory.
The Bulldogs capitalized on scoring opportunities and received a steady performance in the circle, limiting LA Valley's offense and preventing any sustained rallies. Hancock's defense played clean behind the pitching staff as the Bulldogs closed out the win to open the doubleheader.
GAME TWO: LA VALLEY — AHC |BOX SCORE
LA Valley answered in game two, using timely hitting to pull away and even the doubleheader.
Hancock battled throughout the contest and worked to generate offense, but the visitors were able to create separation late. The Bulldogs continued to compete until the final out, but were unable to complete the sweep as LA Valley secured the win.
