LANCASTER, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer team secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory on the road at Antelope Valley College in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening. The final decision was powered by a second-half strike from Bryan Vargas and a clean sheet by sophomore goalkeeper Max Brewster. | BOX SCORE
After a scoreless first half in which Brewster tallied two key saves and defender Benny Nicolas added a defensive stop, the Bulldogs (2-1-3) finally broke through in the 62nd minute. Vargas netted the game's lone goal off an assist from Juan Zarate, finishing Hancock's third shot on target of the match.
Brewster closed the door with another save late in the match, preserving his second shutout of the season. Hancock's defensive unit limited the Marauders (2-4) to just five shots overall and none after the 63rd minute.
The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Friday, September 12th, with a road trip to Taft College for another non-conference contest.
