SANTA MARIA, Calif. — The Allan Hancock College baseball team hosted state defending champions Mt. San Antonio College in a two-game nonconference series on Friday and Saturday, turning in competitive performances against one of California's premier programs.
GAME 1: ALLAN HANCOCK 9, Mt. SAC 7| BOX SCORE
Hancock's offense broke through in a big way behind a standout performance from Braden Oliver, who drove in five runs to pace the Bulldogs. Jacob McMillan added to the attack with two hits and two RBIs, as Hancock consistently applied pressure throughout the lineup.
On the mound, the Bulldogs closed the door late with Hunter Beck earning the save, tossing three scoreless innings to secure his second save of the season.
GAME 2: ALLAN HANCOCK 3, Mt. SAC 1|BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs leaned on strong pitching in Saturday's matchup, led by Seth Tedeschi, who earned the win after throwing seven innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out four.
Brycen Hurtado shut things down in relief, picking up the save with two innings pitched, surrendering one hit and recording one strikeout.
Offensively, Josue Garcia and Matt Kovach paced Hancock with two hits apiece. Kovach delivered a triple, while Garcia chipped in a double and an RBI single to fuel the Bulldogs' scoring.
