SANTA MARIA, Calif. — The Allan Hancock College baseball team picked up wins on Friday and Saturday, controlling the opener against Antelope Valley College before rallying late to edge College of the Canyons.
On Friday, Hancock stayed in command throughout, scoring in six of the eight offensive innings before breaking the game open with an eight-run eighth against Antelope Valley. Laʻakea Ko collected three hits, Granite Siebt drove in two with a double, and Jake Harrison delivered a pinch-hit, two-RBI single during the late surge. On the mound, Ryan Cronk tossed five innings of one-run ball, while Gage Mattis added three scoreless innings. |BOX SCORE
Saturday required grit. In his season debut, Seth Tedeschi threw four scoreless innings striking out 3, and Hunter Beck earned the win with 3.2 strong innings and five strikeouts. The Bulldogs flipped the game in the eighth as Braden Oliver led off with a home run, Siebt tied it with an RBI double, and Chase Wise delivered a pinch-hit, go-ahead RBI single. |BOX SCORE
