NEXT LEVEL: Chiarella Commits to Hope International

FULLERTON, Calif. - Allan Hancock College pitcher, Raffael Chiarella, will continue his academic and athletic career at Hope International University in the spring. 

"Getting an opportunity to join the roster at Hope International is a true blessing. They have an outstanding athletic reputation, a great coaching staff, and a great academic community surrounding my major," Chiarella shared. 

Chiarella completed his second of two seasons on the mound for the Bulldogs in the spring. The Las Vegas native appeared in 10 games, earning seven starts and picking up two wins along the way. He struck out 24 batters across 27.1 innings pitched. Chiarella sat down a season-best of six batters in the dominating 11-1 victory against Bakersfield College.

"My time at Hancock prepared me for success at the next level by not only showing me how to compete at a top junior college in California, but by also showing me how to manage everything - school, baseball, family, and extracurriculars - properly," Chiarella added. "Finding balance is the only way to succeed in a collegiate sport, and Hancock was able to pave the way for me to do just that."

The Royals are a member of the NAIA and compete in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
